Our company was started by my founder parents (Brian and Roberta Boyett) 56 years ago.  We have lived in the same building, had the same phone number for 56 years.  We are the oldest continuously owned water treatment company in Arizona.

1960’s

The short history of Boyett’s family reverse osmosis drinking water technology.

The RO process was developed in a UCLA laboratory – experimenting with pig bladders.

The RO technology went out to our US military submarines ‘this is still used there today’.

When this RO technology became available for us to apply in our homes (this water is slightly acidic); we embraced this technology and continue to make it better each day.

2023 picture coming soon

One of our VIP clients walked into our office and asked us if we can provide her alkaline water. She discovered by drinking alkalinity water – she stopped limping from her hip pain and began participating in triathlon races.

We learned the alkalinity water technology since in 1960’s.  Boyett’s family water has provided alkalinity water to your for many years.  We utilize a material known as calcite crystals.  Because the RO water is slightly acidic we run the water over the calcite crystals (our alkalinity water Ph is between 8.5- 9.5).

Here is the rest of the story about how we developed our alkalinity reverse osmosis service in 2009.

Marina, Honey & Hawkeye *Health claims of alkaline water are unsubstantiated with scientific research. Let the testimonials speak for themselves. Notable Quotes: “Many ecological studies report an inverse (i.e. protective) association between cardiovascular disease mortality and water hardness, calcium or magnesium levels; however, results are not consistent.”* “Higher calcium intakes have been related to higher bone mass in children, young adults and postmenopausal women in most (64 out of 86) observational epidemiological studies and clinical trials of calcium supplementation (Heaney 2000). However, most individuals do not consume adequate intakes of calcium.”* *Calcium and Magnesium in Drinking-water Public health significance. World Health Organization Summary. 2009. “We have noticed significant health improvements Testimonial: Marina, Honey & Hawkeye “I would like to think this amazing product was developed for us just because we asked. We already had the reverse osmosis installed and were happy with that, although, my concern about the high acid in our drinking water made me seek a solution. I contacted Hayden and Troy at Boyett Family Rayne Water Company, and their research and development department went into action. To our surprise, at our next service call, Boyett’s installed this calcite filter. We have had it for 6 months now and have noticed significant health improvements in ourselves and our dogs, which enjoy the water as well. In our case, since the reduction of acid in our water my hip pain has disappeared, which allows me to be more active and lose weight (my size 8’s look great, thanks). Another benefit was when I wore costume jewelry my skin would turn green, this no longer happens. As for our wonderful pets, we have two 7 year old Beagles— Honey and Hawkeye. As long as I can remember, Hawkeye has always – after drinking water – thrown it up, until now . NO MORE CLEAN UPS, and he is so much more hydrated. Our other dog, Honey, suffered with hip pain. Since filling her watering station with the Boyett water she no longer limps. The pain is gone, and she runs around like a puppy again! So THANK YOU RAYNE, for all that you do for the health of our family and your GOING GREEN movement! Honey and Hawkeye thank you too!* -Marina Nov. 9, 2010 THE REST OF THE STORY… Please refer to my the Nov 8th, 2010 google review titled Nick. I would like to thank The Boyett Family Rayne Water Team for the continued excellent service, I love the idea of a new clean system and filters at the time of my service, as well as, appreciate the reminder calls and flexibility of the appointment coordinator due to my busy business schedule. The service technician Marco, that came out to the house was prompt, professional and he made sure the area was clean and in order before he departed. Thank you Troy! Oh, and thanks to the leak detector that the Rayne Team installs with the reverse osmosis system under the sink, I had been warned early that the under the sink garbage disposal had a crack and was leaking badly….I was able to call the Rayne team and they helped me reset the system to assure that I was drinking the reverse osmosis alkalinity water once more. In my opinion, all water things in the whole house should have a leak detector and shut off mechanism….Okay research and development department at Boyett Family Rayne Water a new challenge for you! Thank you for taking great care! Since my last review, some of my personal bucket list accomplishments have been fulfilled due to the Alkalinity water I drink. Not only have I kept off the weight, still in size 8… It is really nice to have my yearly well visit with my physician and get a clean bill of health. I have been able to work out and train more….so much more, that last summer I finished a triathlon, The Tin Man in Honolulu…..and so many fundraiser runs like the Pat Tillman Run, P.F Chang, Breast Cancer awareness marathon and so on…. My family and pets are enjoying the alkalinity water and doing well. My two beagles are more puppy like…they still run with me approaching 9 years of age. So once more Boyett Family Rayne Water team..Thank you again for years of excellent service, attention and the health of my family! – Marina Apr 18, 2012 Marina is the owner of Coach Works, Inc. When Marina, Hawkeye and Honey brought to our attention that we have this powerhouse product – our lives were changed.  We stand on a mountaintop and brag about this alkalinity water process that we have developed.

Here is the story about how we added +Mg to our alkalinity reverse osmosis.

I was so proud of our company for specifically developing this alkalinity reverse osmosis process (Troy came up with the design and invented the mechanism to deliver this alkalinity water to you).   I began to tell everyone (I am fortunate to meet with as many as 20 of you nice people in the evening and on Saturdays).

I was meeting with this really nice lady around their dinner table in Gilbert Arizona and she said this:

“if you can ever figure out how to add magnesium to the water; be sure to inform us.”  It turns out that ½ of us are low on magnesium.  I said okay.   Troy called the Kannapels (3rd generation water treatment equipment builders in Mesa Arizona) and they told Troy this:

“Yes, you can easily add magnesium to your RO unit by adding this material called Corosex to your empty filter cannister”.  I said this: I can’t wait to tell people about Corosex.

Because of these important clients, we are now able to offer you this product (this product will raise your drinking water to a Ph of 8.5- 9.5; add 10% of your daily magnesium ‘you must drink at least 60 ounces of our water’; this product will also save you 85% on your RO waste):

Melanoma Monday: Tips to prevent the deadliest form of skin cancer

As the summer approaches and we spend more time in the sun, skin cancer is also on the rise, making it more important than ever to protect yourself.

As part of skin cancer awareness month, Melanoma Monday is recognized on the first Monday in May to raise awareness about the most serious form of skin cancer and ways to prevent it.

Melanoma causes more than 8,000 deaths per year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Elizabeth Hale, associate professor of dermatology at NYU Langone and senior vice president of the Skin Cancer Foundation, says skin cancer is increasing among all Americans, including specific rises in men and people of color.

“It’s thought that about 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70,” she tells CBS News. “We know that melanoma is most common in men and they actually have the highest mortality rate. It’s thought perhaps men aren’t as good about wearing sunscreen, about seeing a dermatologist and men often tend to get melanoma on their back where it tends to be most deadly.”

Dr. Maral Kibarian Skelsey, dermatologist and director of the Dermatologic Surgery Center of Washington says, for people with darker skin, “melanoma can be diagnosed often very late,” adding it’s sometimes found in areas that are “not very often sun exposed.”

The good news? It’s treatable if caught early.

“Skin cancer is almost always curable when it’s caught early, so it’s really important to protect ourselves (and) get checked because early detection is key,” Hale says.

How to prevent melanoma, skin cancer:

The American Academy of Dermatology says the best prevention is wearing sunscreen and sun-protective clothing and watching for changes to your skin.

“If you have a spot on your skin that has looked the same your whole life and suddenly the edges might look different or the color changes, if the size changes, that’s an important factor,” Skelsey says.

Hale says it’s recommended that every American above age 18 gets an annual skin examination.

“The thing that’s unique about skin cancer — it’s so common, but it’s also so preventable,” she says, adding about 90% of skin cancers are associated with sun exposure, which makes protection important.

“We recommend a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher, and it’s important to think about sunscreen every single day. It’s not just enough when going to the beach or pool because we know that some damage is cumulative,” says Hale. “When you’re outside, you want to reapply every two hours — even more if you’re sweating or swimming. Getting people to wear it every day is the real goal.”

7 percent of water pipes in Texas are made of lead, new report shows

It will cost about $60 billion to replace them, according to an EPA report released this week.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Clean water is essential, and while it is something we use every day, most of us give no thought to how it gets to our faucets.

But according to the Environmental Protection Agency, we should.

This week, they released their assessment of the pipes that bring that drinking water to our homes, our offices and our schools and the results are eye-opening.

The first-of-its-kind report discovered that more than 647,000 of the water lines in our state are made of lead, and fixing that is going to come with a hefty price tag.

“Texas has the fifth highest amount of lead pipes still in use in the United States,” said ‘Inside Texas Politics’ Host Jason Whitely. “Florida is first, but in Texas, about 7 percent of its entire system is lead pipes.”

Keep in mind that lead water pipes were banned by law in 1986 because those pipes start to decay and crumble, introducing lead into our drinking water.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are no safe blood-lead levels — especially for children — and the effects of lead poisoning can be permanent and disabling.

The EPA has also given an estimate on what it would take to remedy this situation.

“Replacing them all in this state, alone, is going to cost $60 billion,” he said.

President Joe Biden has said that, based on this report, he wants to get rid of all lead water pipes over the next decade, something that would take a lot of money and planning to accomplish.

Corpus Christi Water oversees more than 1,600 miles of pipes.

We asked them for an update Thursday on how many of those pipes still need to be replaced over lead concerns.

CCW refused our requests for an answer, saying they are working on a new report and did not want to give outdated information.

That new report is scheduled to come out at the end of April.

Boyett’s family water treatment is working on developing water treatment products that remove the harmful minerals, microbes, and various chemicals that may contaminate your water supply.

Here are several examples of these cutting-edge water treatment devices:

Our clarify reverse osmosis drinking water system will disintegrate any E.Coli, Coliform or Pathogens from your water supply.

We are currently working on a whole house clarify filter (this will disintegrate any E.Coli, coliform or pathogen molecules).

This is the outside packaging for this product:

We will call this new product:

Whole house clarify filter (this will disintegrate any E. Coli, coliform, or pathogen molecules).

These two products utilize silver-coated alumina and the physical and chemical principle of quantum dynamics.

What is Quantum Filtration? Quantum water filters use advanced and proprietary technology that utilizes the principles of electron movement in quantum mechanics to remove impurities from water. The technology revolves around creating active catalytic surfaces supported by countless microscopic quantum particles.

A Technological Breakthrough The Quantum Crystals ™ are using a new technology based on the quantum mechanic principles of electron movements in micro-crystals that create active surfaces (positively charged with electron holes) capable to lyse the cells of microorganisms, like for example, the non-pathogen E. coli bacteria (strain 11775), causing their entire structure to collapse.

Our industry-specific recording-keeping software will make sure that we exchange your equipment and filters in a timely manner.  Failure to properly maintain your water equipment can cause micro-biological contamination of your drinking water.

Minerals, microbes and various chemicals may contaminate the water supply. Neglecting your water filters can lead to system malfunctions, clogging, and compromised water quality.

Are you neglecting your filters?

Are you neglecting your filters?

Did you know, reverse osmosis filter systems are one of the most effective filters for drinking water – 99% of the most dangerous contaminants are removed. Did you also know that water filtration systems remove more dangerous contaminants than any other purification method?

Effective water filtration means saving money, improving your eco-credentials and benefiting your health. However, what happens when you don’t maintain your water filters? There are many implications that can occur when water filtration is not maintained to a high standard. Regularly changing water filters is crucial to ensuring safe water.

Do filters need changing?

Short answer: yes! Depending on your water filter some can last 36 months without maintenance whereas others need replacing every three months.

How often you need to change your filter depends on different variables such as water consumption and your filtration system type. Hard water tanks may need more filter changes than soft water tanks.

It is important to note that filters that have not been used do not expire. Provided that your filters are not exposed to any moisture, there is no set shelf life.

What do filters remove?

Generally, filters will remove impurities in your water. This can include things like, chemicals and sediment. There are a variety of filters which remove different things. Take UV filters, for example, these will not make water drinkable, however, it does treat bacteria and viruses.

But what will not be removed if a filter is not working well? An inefficient filter will lead to bacteria build up in your tank.

What would happen if you don’t regularly change filters?

General wear and tear to your water filters can have implications such as reduced effectiveness and an increased risk of biofouling. Minerals, microbes and various chemicals may contaminate the water supply.

Neglecting your water filters can lead to system malfunctions, clogging, and compromised water quality. It is advised that you change your filters as instructed by your manufacturer.

Covid-19: Interruption to industrial processes has led to sites being closed for long periods of time and even the smallest amount of water left in purification units will increase chances of biofouling, mold and bacteria growth.

Maintaining the efficacy of your water filters can be a fine line: filters that have been overused and those that have not been used in weeks should be replaced. If left mold will begin to grow, particularly if it is humid.

If you do not give your filters and your water treatment the responsible and effective care; you may be drinking pure water that is biologically contaminated; or you can be drinking unhealthy and unsafe water.

Lead in the water: How some of America’s water became too dangerous to drink

A century-old engineering decision has led to a modern-day water crisis in US.

How lead service lines became a modern-day public health crisis. Millions of Americans don’t have clean drinking water. With over 9 million lead pipes still running underground, contaminated water has become a public health crisis in many cities across the U.S.

Nearly 60 million Americans may not know they’re drinking from toxic metal in present day, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc.

The U.S. currently holds approximately 9.2 lead service lines underground, according to a recent survey released by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

As the U.S. faces crisis after crisis in the country’s water infrastructure system, lead service lines continue to be a silent and deadly consequence – a decision determined by U.S. engineers more than 150 years ago.

History

The engineering concept was originally initiated in the Ancient Roman era – lead pipes were designed to channel clean water into its city and sweep out sewage.

In the 1800s, the ancient Roman conception was later adopted by the U.S., which would also install lead pipes nationwide to provide indoor plumbing to citizens.

“It created a public health benefit because we had clean water coming into our homes to take baths and wipe out waterborne disease – and that same water could sweep away our sewage,” Marc Edwards, professor of engineering at Virginia Tech, told ABC News.

For America, the nation’s goal was to deliver water in quantity — which lead pipes helped achieve due to their inexpensive, durable, non-leaking and long-lasting benefits.

Those lead pipes later became an environmental disaster as health experts realized their poisonous dangers, including miscarriages and fetal deaths.

“Around the 1920s, many cities required if you wanted to connect your house to the water main you had to use a lead pipe by law,” Edwards said.

Yet, several cities were still installing lead pipes, including Chicago – which didn’t stop installing lead pipes until 1986 when the Safe Drinking Water Act was amended, the EPA said.

Protestors marched outside the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, Aug. 26, 2019, during the MTV Video and Music Awards to bring attention to the water crisis currently gripping the city.NurPhoto via Getty Images

Although the 1986 revised law banned lead, the pipes already installed were not required to be replaced, according to the EPA.

Lead is a tasteless, colorless and odorless chemical element that cannot be detected in the water. Health experts have determined there is ‘no safe level of lead’ in the human body. Children are often the most vulnerable as lead exposure can lead to anemia, brain damage, and among other issues in cognitive progress, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Present day health crisis

Edwards, who testified before Congress of the dangers of lead poisoning in Washington, D.C., in 2004, also helped to discover the Flint, Michigan, water crisis and said that he knew more water crises were impending.

Following Flint and Washington, D.C. also came Chicago, Newark, New Jersey, Benton Harbor, Michigan and Detroit.

Illinois is the second largest state to have the most lead pipes with more than 1 million still in service – Chicago alone has nearly 400,000, according to the EPA survey released in early April. Florida emerged as the state with the most lead service lines in the nation, beating out Illinois with 1,159,300 lead pipes.

Gina Ramirez, a third generation East Chicago native, says she and her family have strictly drank and cooked with bottled water for the last 30 years — because their home is connected to lead service lines. Ramirez, who also serves as the Midwest Outreach Manager for the Natural Resources Defense Council, NRDC, says her family’s neighborhood is mostly low-income, people of color.

“I mean a lot of families are just trying to put food on the table. There’s a lot of undocumented residences, undocumented residents in my neighborhood as well, so they don’t want to like, bring the alarm on that situation,” Ramirez said

For Ramirez, the process of having her pipes replaced has created a growing frustration as it’s taken her family two years before being approved for Chicago’s Lead Service Line equity program.

Illinois lawmakers have given Chicago nearly 50 years to replace all lead pipes compared to other cities like Flint, Benton Harbor and Newark, that has replaced nearly all its pipes in under five years.

“That’s part of what it’s like living in a community where you have a tax on your health from outside your home and within your home. What kind of anxiety that can be, being raised in a home where you have to drink bottled water where you can’t trust your tap. That has to have long-term implications on your emotional health,” Ramirez says.

In late 2021, President Joe Biden signed a bipartisan infrastructure bill totaling $1.2 trillion, $15 billion of which will be targeted towards replacing lead water pipes and $50 billion will go toward fixing the nation’s water infrastructure system. As the Biden administration prioritizes lead pipe replacements nationwide, many Americans like Gina suggest the damage is already done.

“This is a public health crisis,” Ramirez said. “I’m hopeful for these infrastructure dollars to go to lead service line replacements — we need the money to come into these communities who are disproportionately suffering health impacts and replace those lead service lines first.”

Boyett’s family water treatment has come up with an affordable solution to this very serious problem.
